Ernest Li is a managing director in the Private Client Services practice in the Houston office of Andersen. Since 2009, Ernest has advised high-net-worth families on individual income taxation, business entities, trusts, gifts and estates, and wealth succession planning.
Ernest began his career at Big Four accounting firms in the late 1990s, focusing on U.S. taxation of American citizens living overseas and foreign nationals relocating to the United States. His experience includes advising clients on individual income tax, domestic and foreign trusts, partnerships, corporations, and gift and estate tax matters. In addition to U.S. domestic tax issues, Ernest has extensive experience with cross-border matters involving tax treaties, foreign corporations, foreign gifts, and estate planning related to foreign inheritances.
Before joining Andersen, Ernest was a senior director at RSM US LLP and a senior manager at Margolis, Phipps & Wright, P.C. Earlier in his career, he was a tax manager in the global mobility practices at PwC and KPMG.
