Ross Margelefsky is a managing director in the US National Tax practice at Andersen with nearly two decades of experience advising clients on federal tax matters. Ross works with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, as well as privately held businesses, focusing on:

  • Accounting methods
  • Accounting periods
  • Revenue recognition
  • Timing of deductions
  • Cost capitalization and recovery
  • Inventory valuation
  • Long-term contract accounting

Ross has extensive experience helping clients evaluate the impact of new tax legislation and regularly represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service on accounting method changes, private letter rulings, and examination matters. Additionally, he advises on mergers and acquisitions involving tax accounting methods and inventory issues.

Before joining Andersen, Ross was a partner at a Big Four firm, where he held progressive roles, from associate to partner, in the Washington National Tax Services and Strategic Tax Services groups. He also served as Legislation Tax Accountant with the Joint Committee on Taxation of the United States Congress, where he advised on legislation, including the CARES Act, the Build Back Better Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act, and collaborated with Treasury and IRS officials on tax policy.
