Christopher has over 14 years of experience providing state and local tax services. His primary focus is sales and transaction taxes, and Washington gross receipts tax.

Christopher’s experience includes:

  • Evaluating and assisting clients in recovering overpayments of sales and use taxes; including managing all correspondence with the taxing jurisdictions.
  • Assisting clients with calculations and refunds related to Washington Business and Occupation Tax credits and incentives, including the high technology research and development credit, aerospace incentives and service apportionment.
  • Assisting clients in sales and use tax audits, including managing the relationship with the state taxing jurisdiction and providing memorandum detailing the research related to tax treatment of the clients business processes.
  • Developing sales and use tax data mining techniques, data management processes, taxability analysis tools and data tools used to track progress of collecting outstanding refunds.
  • Evaluating and assisting clients with sales/use tax due diligence reviews associated with mergers & acquisitions, including exemption certificate process management.
  • Assisting clients with appeals/settlement negotiations and voluntary disclosure.
  • Preparing complex income/franchise state tax models to assist with identifying planning opportunities.

Prior to joining Andersen, Christopher worked at KPMG and served as a member of the state and local tax practice.
