Jeff Thorne

Jeff Thorne joined Andersen’s Alternative Investment Funds practice in December 2020. He has over ten years of public accounting experience with a focus on hedge and private equity funds. During his career, Jeff has provided tax compliance and consulting services to a variety of clients, including management companies, hedge funds, private equity funds, fund of funds, and family office structures. He has consulted with clients on the choice of legal structure from a tax perspective, implementation of carried interest plans and profits interest structures, and many other areas to increase tax efficiency and create overall financial and tax value. He also specializes in complex partnership tax adjustments and allocations.

In addition to providing tax consulting and compliance services, Jeff has also performed fund accounting services for clients, including providing monthly and quarterly investor reporting, book profits interest calculations and tracking, and other investor capital account matters.

Before joining Andersen, Jeff worked in Deloitte’s asset management tax practice in Chicago. He also spent two years in-house as tax director for Morgan Stanley’s AIP Fund of Funds group.
